Job Overview
We are hiring for a Retail Associate and Visual Merchandiser at TALES House London, a curated multi-brand experiential retail space by Bellafricana on Oxford Street.
Part-time, shift-based (including weekends) | Salary: £12.71 per hour | Start: June 2026
This hybrid role combines exceptional customer service with strong visual merchandising to ensure customers enjoy a memorable shopping experience in an inspiring, brand-aligned retail environment.
About TALES House London
At the heart of Oxford Street, TALES House London is a rotating, curated experiential space bringing together African and diaspora brands across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and creative industries. Unlike traditional retail, it’s a storytelling platform that merges retail, community, and culture into an in-person discovery experience.
The space operates 7 days/week with a small, dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Focus
- Deliver exceptional customer service that enhances shopping experiences and drives engagement.
- Build relationships with customers, communicating product benefits, brand stories, and unique selling points with confidence.
- Support sales targets through proactive suggestions and a welcoming attitude.

Visual Merchandising & Presentation
- Create and maintain visually compelling product displays that inspire shoppers and align with brand standards.
- Refurbish promotional areas, signage, and layouts to keep execution fresh, on-brand, and commercially effective.
- Work closely with the team to present the space’s cultural and design identity.
Retail Operations
- Assist with stock management, inventory accuracy, tagging, and refreshment across high-turnover categories.
- Support opening/closing procedures, events, brand activations, and collaborative campaigns.
- Maintain working areas in a clean, organised, and welcoming condition at all times.
Team & Representation
- Collaborate with the Retail Team Lead and wider team in a fast-paced, close-knit environment.
- Represent the TALES House London and Bellafricana brand with professionalism and enthusiasm at all touchpoints.
Requirements & Qualifications

- Experience: Previous roles in retail, visual merchandising, fashion, or customer-focused environments (preferably both retail and display).
- Visual Merchandising Skills: Ability to plan and execute on-brand product presentations, including technology, backdrops, storytelling finishes.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication— confident talking to customers, team members, and brands.
- Attention to Detail: Organizational mind with an eye for aesthetics, consistency, and client demands.
- Adaptability: Flourish in a fast-paced, experiential retail environment; comfortable working flexible shifts/including weekends.
- Passion: Interest in fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and culture with an eye for trends.
- Creativity & Design Mindset: Ability to elevate brand propositions through visual storytelling.
