About the Role
The charity shop is looking for a Zero Hours Cover Supervisor to create a welcoming space full of bargains, customer engagement, and a vibrant atmosphere!
Customer service is central to this role—you’ll ensure every visitor (human or animal) feels at home in a friendly, inviting, and busy but supportive environment. Your responsibility will include championing Blue Cross, sharing their mission to support pets and people.
Key Responsibilities

Customer experience:
- Deliver exceptional service, ensuring patrons feel valued (four-legged welcome included!).
- Champion Blue Cross and their work through engagement during interactions.

Retail operations:
- Drive Gift Aid signups to boost fundraising.
- Process donations efficiently and accurately.
- Price items strategically to maximise sales and raise funds.
- Maintain a shop floor that is organised, safe, and attractive—including eye-catching window displays, tidy stock, and well-presented rails/shelves.
- Ensure the new mini hub stock area is well-presented and inviting.

Requirements
You’ll have:
- Previous retail experience, including supervisory or management experience.
- A knack for customer service, whether dealing with wandered-in shoppers or volunteers.
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate shifts as needed (varied hours, quick responses).
- Motivational and practical skills—organised, hands-on, and enthusiastic.
- Sense of humour to keep the shop atmosphere lively and fun.
