Retail Crew
Retail Assistant (Customer Experience & Commercial) – Covent Garden
About the Role
This role is your opportunity to bring Finisterre’s mission, values and approach to life. As a dedicated part-time team member, you will work alongside a passionate community to deliver exceptional customer service and contribute to the success of our store in Covent Garden.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
- Create an engaging and authentic customer relationship by sharing genuine experiences, personal interests, and a passion for adventure.
- Clearly communicate Finisterre’s Product of the Day (POD) (or equivalent marketing initiatives) through your own experience and technical knowledge.
- Maintain openness, honesty, and integrity in all interactions to deliver a high standard of customer service.
- Build a loyal customer base and nurture positive relationships within the Finisterre community, championing the store as a community hub—both through in-store events and external engagement.
Commercial
- Contribute to sales targets and KPIs by embracing commercial challenges and fostering a solution-focused, positive attitude.
- Exceed customer expectations to maximise sales through an effective multi-channel shopping experience.
- Support the timely execution of launches, promotions, and campaigns in-store.
- Monitor and contribute to commercial success by identifying opportunities across all channels.
Operations
- Ensure visual merchandising and presentation guidelines are followed to enhance store appeal and conversion rates.
- Maintain high security standards through vigilance on the shop floor and strict adherence to security protocols.
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures strictly.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in both front and back-of-house areas.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure the shop floor is fully stocked through efficient use of replenishment systems.
- Identify operational improvements and propose better, more efficient practices, sharing feedback with store management.

Person Spec
To apply for this role, you will bring:
- A shared love for outdoor adventure, the sea, and sustainability, and a passion to protect the environment.
- A strong connection to people—outgoing, approachable, and enthusiastic—with a natural ability to build rapport and relationships.
- Self-motivation and a willingness to take initiative, including stepping up for new or ad hoc tasks.
- Prior experience in a customer-focused retail role.
- Strong customer service skills, with a proven ability to exceed expectations.
- Basic understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and stock management.

What You’ll Receive
Finisterre offers a part-time, permanent contract with a residential store role in Covent Garden, along with a competitive hourly wage of £14.80.
