The Role of the Deputy Manager
As a Retail Deputy Manager, you’re a crucial part of the store leadership team. Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Store Manager in leading the team and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Driving commercial performance, maintaining high operational standards, and stepping up to manage the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Serving as a role model for the team by embodying our brand values.
- Ensuring every shift runs smoothly, from stock management to loss prevention.
Your mission beyond retail: Portray The Works’ purpose as a Brand Ambassador. The everyday interactions—the warm welcome, the recommendation that leads to a joyful discovery—create lasting impact, often far beyond your time with them.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in customer service leadership, helping every visitor find joy and connection through our products.
- Manage stock, merchandising, and compliance for optimal store performance.
- Lead by example, setting high service standards on the shop floor.
- Coach and develop your team, fostering skill growth.
- Act as stand-in for the Store Manager during absences.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training.
- Track store performance and propose efficiency growth plans.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety, cash handling, and loss prevention protocols.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive team culture.
