Retail Deputy Manager – 18-Hour Contract

About the Role
As a Retail Deputy Manager, you’ll be integral to supporting the Store Manager in leading the team and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Your mission is to:
- Drive commercial performance
- Maintain high operational standards
- Step up to lead in the Store Manager’s absence
- Act as a leadership role model, motivating and coaching the team
Key Responsibilities
As a Deputy Manager, you’ll:
- Support customer service – Deliver exceptional service and build brilliant conversations with customers, assisting in every shopping mission.
- Stock & layout management – Ensure the store is well-stocked, tidy, safe, and welcoming.
- Operational leadership – Step in to manage the store in the Store Manager’s absence while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Team coaching – Develop team members through feedback, mentorship, and career growth conversations.
- Recruitment & training – Assist with onboarding and performance management of new team members.
- Performance monitoring – Contribute insights on sales, efficiency, and losing prevention.
- Safety & compliance – Uphold health & safety, cash handling, and compliance standards.

- Retail leadership experience (preferably supervisory or team management)
- Strong communication & team development skills
- Confidence in decision-making and strategic prioritisation

- Retail expertise – Systems, reporting, stock management, merchandising, and loss prevention
