18 Hour Contract – Retail Deputy Manager (Store Leadership Role)

The Role
Become a Retail Deputy Manager
As a Deputy Manager, you’ll be the missing piece to helping the Store Manager lead together. Every day, you’ll:
- Partner with leadership to make customer experience exceptional.
- Drive performance—commercial, operational, and personal growth for team members.
- Step into Store Manager duties day-to-day—ensuring smoother retail operations in their absence.
- Be a role model: coach, motivate, and set high standards for service, presentation, and teamwork.
- Create a supportive, inclusive environment where professional development is prioritised.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Mission: Spark meaningful conversations, helping customers find products they’ll love—whether personal passions or heartfelt gifts. Reimagine their shopping journey with recommendations that inspire.
- Operational Excellence: Keep the store well-stocked, premium, safe, and efficient—all while reflecting our inclusive values.
- Team Leadership:
- Support recruitment and onboarding.
- Coach employees and track progress.
- Lead training sessions.
- Performance & Ideation: Monitor store KPIs and propose strategies to boost sales and morale.
- Regulatory Safety: Ensure all health & safety, compliance, and loss prevention standards are met, from cash handling to workplace safeguarding.

- Leadership experience in a retail/customer-facing environment (tranformational or guerrilla-level nourishment skills are a plus!).
- Communication & empathy—those who can motivate both teams and customers alike.
- Self-assurance in decision-making (brand vision + personal accountability).
- Organisational muscle to balance multiple priorities—with a touch of agility!
- Standards for success: service should be memorable, the shop floor polished, and team morale KPI-indexed high.
