Become a Retail Deputy Manager
As a Retail Deputy Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Store Manager to:
- Lead the team in delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Drive commercial performance and uphold high operational standards
- Take charge of day-to-day store operations in the Store Manager’s absence
- Inspire, coach, and foster a positive team culture
Your mission is simple yet transformative:
- Deliver outstanding service: Spark meaningful conversations and help customers achieve their shopping goals, whether it’s finding a gift, discovering a new hobby, or rediscovering lost passions.
- Maintain operational excellence: Ensure your store is stocked, welcoming, safe, and visually appealing.

Your Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development:
- Support the Store Manager in ensuring excellent customer service and achieving retail targets
- Coach and develop team members, providing constructive feedback
- Foster a culture of inclusion, communication, and motivation
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees

Operational Excellence:
- Oversee stock management, merchandising, and compliance
- Lead the store independently when needed, ensuring smooth operations
- Maintain health & safety, cash handling, and loss prevention procedures

Performance Improvement:
- Monitor retail performance and provide actionable insights to optimise sales and efficiency
Key Skills & Behaviours
Passion and enthusiasm for team leadership in retail or customer service drive our top candidates. We’re looking for: ✔ Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role ✔ Enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer experiences ✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills ✔ Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment ✔ Customer-focused mindset with a passion for creativity, play, and engagement ✔ High volume retail experience, including cash handling ✔ Familiarity with retail systems, merchandising principles, and reporting tools
