Terry de Gunzburg is an industry legend who, over the course of the past 30 years, has been changing the face of beauty through the invention of countless products and formulas, including the iconic Baume de Rose lip balm. Today, BY TERRY offers customers revolutionary foundations, innovative mascaras, and long-lasting lipstick formulas, as well as a 'couture' beauty line of bespoke cosmetics.
We are looking for a Management Accountant to be part of a fast paced and dynamic cosmetics business.
Mission
The Retail Manager is responsible for achieving and exceeding national sales targets in the UK Market through finding and implementing business solutions at POS, developing partnerships at counter and store management levels.
An ambassador for the Brand, the Retail Manager will reflect the brand values, and customer base.
Responsible for achieving optimal financial results through the empowerment of the field sales team to maximise sales potential and ensuring superior service to our customers.
Overseeing the day-to-day operations, the Retail Manager is also responsible for anticipating needs and identifying business challenges, while executing with excellence the sales, training and merchandising.
This person must exude a passion and enthusiasm for the Brand to the field and store retail teams, developing a unique and personalised working relationship with our Retail partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the in-store execution of the UK sales strategy to achieve targets.
- Determine, drive and track sales targets to meet and exceed plan and KPI’s.
- Travel regularly with the team to provide feedback, coaching and support to ensure achievement of their business objectives, develop their skills and to maintain regular contact with key stores/management.
- Analysing sales data and reporting figures. Ensuring we are meeting brand expectations on NPD, hero 5 and core sales divisions.
- Lead and develop the team and develop a culture of high performance.
- Provide on-going performance management: developing the sales team, through coaching, mentoring, on the job development and other appropriate development opportunities.
- Oversee local application of expenditure within agreed budget including incentives, commissions, bonus structure and staffing budget.
- Review the implementation of visual merchandising, new launch displays, and collateral placement as directed by the marketing team.
- Ensure visual merchandising in the field consistently meets brand guidelines and expectations.
- Schedule direct reports to optimise coverage according to business needs. Monitor and report attendance detail.
- Maintain excellent hygiene standards throughout the region.
- Raise operational issues for resolution in a timely manner.
People Specific
- Lead and develop the team and develop a culture of high performance.
- Provide on-going performance management: developing the sales team, through coaching, mentoring, on the job development and other appropriate development opportunities.
- Implement individual development plans and conduct regular reviews that encourage two-way feedback and coaching.
- Work in close partnership with the Training team to ensure that the Training focus and strategy is achieved.
- Ensure time and resources are allocated strategically.
- Assess performance of teams
- Maintain effective communication – written, verbal and electronic.
- Proactively anticipate staffing needs, including sourcing and selecting talent to deliver business objectives.
- Recruit and hire the best professionals who embody the brand.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of open and positive communication, professionalism, and creativity at all times through team meetings and a collaborative management style.
- Create a positive, cohesive, cooperative team culture.

Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven management experience of multi-site accounts in a retail environment.
- Experience within the beauty industry, particularly Makeup and Skincare
- Experience of managing teams and developing people, with a collaborative, enthusiastic and positive mindset.
- Good communication skills, confident in presenting concepts internally and externally
- Natural tendency for problem solving and ability to remain calm under pressure, handle multiple projects and meet timelines.
- Computer literacy; strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Flexible attitude, team player and willingness to learn.
- The ability and willingness to travel are required for this role.
Desirable
- Premium Beauty, Cosmetics or Fragrance industry experience
- Understanding and experience of working with national department store chains
- Experience of successfully developing excellent customer relationships at a national and local level.
