Retail Marketing Apprentice
We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Marketing Apprentice to join the Marketing Department at Vertu Motors plc, based at our Head Office in Gateshead.
Throughout this apprenticeship, you will develop skills in campaign planning, digital marketing, CRM, data analysis, events, customer engagement, and retail marketing strategy, supporting the delivery of marketing activity across one of the UK's leading automotive retail groups.
Salary & Hours
- £8.00 per hour
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
Reporting into the Retail Marketing team, you will work alongside experienced marketing professionals and gain exposure to a variety of channels, stakeholders, and marketing disciplines. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment whilst building a strong foundation for a career in marketing.
By combining academic study with practical work experience, this apprenticeship offers the opportunity to develop your marketing knowledge whilst contributing to real business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of retail marketing campaigns across New Car and Motability programmes
- Assist in the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including CRM, digital, social media, and offline activity
- Help coordinate campaign assets, offers, creative materials, and dealership information
- Support local dealership marketing activity and its alignment with national manufacturer campaigns
- Assist with the planning and delivery of experiential marketing events, including logistics and on-site support
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, channel specialists, and external agencies to support campaign delivery
- Assist with CRM activity, testing campaigns, and learning best practice audience targeting techniques
- Gain exposure to digital marketing channels including paid media, website activity, and social campaigns
- Support campaign tracking, performance monitoring, and reporting
- Develop an understanding of marketing metrics, campaign effectiveness, and return on investment
- Assist with budget tracking and campaign administration
- Ensure activity follows brand guidelines, GDPR requirements, and advertising regulations
- Learn how AI and emerging technologies can support marketing planning, content creation, and campaign delivery
- Stay up to date with industry developments, consumer trends, and competitor activity

Essential Skills
We are looking for a motivated individual with a genuine interest in marketing and customer engagement. The following skills would be desirable:

- Strong computer skills with a good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Qualifications Required
Applicants are required to have, or be predicted to obtain, GCSE Grade A*-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) in the following subjects:
- English
- Maths
- One other subject
