Blue Light Card. Individually great, together unstoppable

The Role and the Team

Retail Media is one of BLC's fastest-growing and highest priority commercial bets, and the business is investing seriously in scaling it. There's genuine scope to shape how the proposition develops and real ownership on offer for the right person.

The Retail Media Lead is the second hire into this function, sitting alongside the Retail Media Director and taking real ownership of the commercial and delivery work that keeps things moving. You'll work day-to-day with Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing and CRM, and be a key presence in external conversations with brand and retail partners. You will help develop, release and coordinate new advertising products and services for our Partners, always with an eye to the Partner experience and the commercial opportunity.

This role suits someone who's hungry to build, comfortable in the detail, and as confident managing a piece of cross-functional delivery as they are in a commercial partner conversation. You don't need to be the finished article in both, but you'll need to be genuinely capable across both.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Product, Engineering, Commercial and Data, keeping retail media initiatives on track and dependencies visible.
  • Proactively identify and resolve delivery risks, bringing the right people together to maintain momentum and keeping stakeholders informed as work progresses.
  • Build internal understanding and buy-in for retail media's role in BLC's commercial strategy, acting as a trusted point of contact across teams.
  • Ensure media products and placements are built in line with business objectives, consumer privacy standards and brand experience requirements.
  • Support and listen to the day-to-day feedback and requirements emerging from commercial relationships with retail media partners, including campaign planning, product feedback and revenue conversations.
  • Establish and share measurement frameworks with partners that demonstrate the effectiveness of retail media, including incrementality, attribution, ROAS and customer lifetime value.
  • Support the development and positioning of online retail media products and data and audience monetisation opportunities, working closely with Product and Data to shape what gets built.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience of partner relationships and revenue within retail media, AdTech, or a related digital or marketplace business, with a genuine understanding of how retail media products are built.
  • A track record of meeting commercial partner needs and contributing to revenue outcomes, with the ability to lead external conversations with confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep cross-functional work on track across Product, Engineering and Data teams, without needing formal project management frameworks or qualifications.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, able to bring structure and pace to situations where not everything is defined yet.
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate commercial and technical detail clearly for a range of audiences, both internally and with partners.
  • Experience in a high-growth, scale-up or early-stage environment would be an advantage, as would a background in a larger organisation where you've been actively involved in building or scaling a new retail media proposition.
