We are looking for a Retail Operations and Safety Manager to join us! You will be responsible for the forming and implementation of the store communication strategy for JoJo, working closely with departments across the business to effectively manage store tasks and workload. You will act as a key communication point for the escalation & resolution for store issues.

You will ensure the tools needed to efficiently operate a JoJo store are created and maintained to a high standard. You will lead by example, ensuring that the JoJo values are seen and heard through all communication and documentation.

You will foster effective relationships with JoJo head office, and support with the scope and delivery of our Retail Strategy & Safety Standards.

You will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and wellbeing standards across all retail locations. Ensuring that stores operate in full compliance with legal requirements and internal policies, while fostering a proactive safety culture that protects employees, customers, and the JoJo Brand.

A peek into your daily adventures:

  • Leading the retail operations plan for JoJo stores.
  • Coaching and development of the Retail & Service Administrator.
  • Forming the communication strategy to engage, motivate and inform stores.
  • Writing & maintaining store process and policies.
  • Planning and organising the retail store calendar, ensuring tasks are well planned and communicated effectively.
  • Gate keeping store communication, ensuring alignment with the retail priorities.
  • Taking the lead for retail facing projects, ensuring retail requirements are understood.
  • Working closely alongside key business stakeholders to maximise the potential of JoJo stores.
  • Manage & control costs and budget, ensuring measures are in place to support successful monitoring.
  • Manage store consumables budget and effective controls of inventory.
  • Contract & Supplier management, ensuring store needs are met and service is delivered inline with expectations.
  • Support the opening and closure of JoJo stores, ensuring milestones are delivered inline with expectations.
  • Managing store operational stock practices, PSS, NSS and Stock takes.
  • Creating positive feedback mechanisms to influence decision making that supports store growth in areas such as Merchandising and Buying.
  • Visiting stores, to gain valuable insight and feedback to ultimately improve central support.
  • Ensuring all policies & procedures are adhered to, including H&S, PCI & GDPR.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s health & safety strategy across all retail sites.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement initiatives. Ensuring all employees receive appropriate onboarding and refresher training.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and safety metrics, producing reports for senior leadership. Whilst identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Partner with Contractors, Property, HR, and Retail teams to ensure safe store layouts, equipment, and working conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health & safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, RIDDOR, COSHH, and fire safety regulations.
  • Manage relationships, contracts and expectations with our Health & Safety provider.
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive & successful brand culture in our JoJo Stores.

  • Previous experience working cross functionally to deliver retail projects.
  • High level of competence with IT systems such as excel, PowerPoint, word, Microsoft and PowerBI.
  • Experience working within a clothing retail store is preferred.
  • Experience with setting and/or managing cost budgets.
  • Previous experience with tendering suppliers, setting up contracts and supplier management.
  • Management level experience of operational, stock, IT and cash management.
  • Proficiency in building effective relationships, collaborating, persuading, challenging and influencing across all levels.
  • A solution orientated mindset and able to efficiently work with others to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Great communication skills with the ability to liaise with all departments within JoJo.
  • Ability to work quickly and always to a very high standard with strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a changing, agile environment.
