Retail Sales Assistant - Keyholder

Retail Sales Assistant – 4-Hour Contract Role

About the Role

We don’t just need retail staff; we need eager Brand Ambassadors—people passionate about bringing our community together through joy, discovery, and connection.

As a Retail Sales Assistant on a flexible 4-hour contract, you’ll:

  • Create memorable moments for customers on the shop floor. Be their guide, their inspiration, and their smiling face.
  • Help shoppers find products that surprise, delight, and inspire—whether they’re looking for gifts, hobbies, or cherished memories.
  • Ensure the store runs smoothly—keeping it clean, well-stocked, and welcoming.

You’ll support customers with: ✅ Warm, knowledgeable service ✅ Friendly, efficient shopping experiences ✅ Finding and recommending products that align with their needs and passions

Key Responsibilities

Core Tasks

  • Provide friendly, efficient customer service—every interaction counts.
  • Maintain high store standards (merchandising, cleanliness, and stock replenishment).
  • Operate the till accurately—handles cash transactions with care.
  • Assist with stock room tasks, deliveries, and maintaining product availability.
  • Align with health & safety, and loss prevention while following operational guidelines.

Brand Ambassador Duties (For All Team Members)

  • Represent our brand through warmth, professionalism, and passion.
  • Example moments you’ll create:
    • A reassuring smile that puts a customer at ease.
    • Engaging a child in discovering a new toy.
    • Supporting a parent choosing a gift that will create lasting memories.
    • Encouraging someone to reconnect with a creative hobby—because “Time Well Spent” is never wasted.

Keyholder Responsibilities (If Applicable, Aged 18+)

Want extra opportunities?

  • On choosing “Keyholder” shifts, you’ll:
    • Open & close the store securely.
    • Manage cashing up and store security.
    • Take on key management tasks with support from the team.
  • As a thank-you for taking on this responsibility, Keyholders receive an enhanced rate of pay—plus exposure to leadership!

What We Look For

  • A strong love for customer service—you go above and beyond!
  • Excel at communication—clear, friendly, and engaging with customers and colleagues.
  • Work as a team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliable and flexible—ready to support shifts on varied hours, including customer peak times.
  • Comfortable with till operations and cash handling.
  • If Keyholder roles interest you: -Basic experience (or willingness to train) in opening/closing stores. -Comfort with basic supervisory tasks.
