Sales Assistant – UK’s Largest Wine Specialist
Majestic Wine Bath
Fancy joining Majestic Wine Group, the UK’s number one Wine Specialist? We’re revolutionising retail and looking for a dynamic, ambitious, and driven individual to grow alongside us.
About the Role
Majestic Wine Group is the UK’s largest end-to-end wines and spirits specialist, operating across retail, on-trade, and hospitality through four brands: Majestic Retail, Majestic Commercial, Enotria, and Vagabond. Founded in 1980 and now backed by Fortress Investment Group, the business continues to evolve with rapid growth.
As a Sales Assistant, you’ll be key to driving sales performance, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our 200+ retail stores. Your role is at the heart of Majestic’s mission: curating high-quality products, delivering expert service, and fostering customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store performance by maximising sales through KPI-focused targets and strategic upselling.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering loyalty and repeat purchases.
- Act as a VIP Concierge: proactively engage customers with product updates, tastings, and personalised recommendations.
- Sell the story, not the discount – leverage your passion for wine to educate customers and build deep product knowledge.
- Develop expertise in our wine portfolio, aiming towards WSET Level 2 qualification.
- Uphold store standards – ensure physical appearance and maintenance remain spotless internally and externally.
- Manage daily operational tasks, including:
- Delivering wine to customers.
- Merchandising stock.
- Conducting customer calls to identify sales opportunities.
- Identify and implement store improvements, collaborating with your team to optimise performance.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, safety protocols, and mandatory training.
- Embody Majestic’s ways of working and support junior team members while reporting to management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
