The Role: Sales Assistant
As a Sales Assistant at Majestic, you’ll:
- Support your store team to drive sales performance.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of your Majestic Wine store.
- Provide exceptional customer service and experiences.
Key Responsibilities

Customer Advocate
- Be an ambassador for your store while delivering an outstanding shopping experience for every customer.

Drive store performance by:
- Maximising sales opportunities.
- Supporting your team to meet and exceed targets through KPI delivery.
- Offering a VIP concierge service—proactively contacting customers with product updates and tastings.
- "Sell the story, not the discount"—demonstrate and share your passion for the product through an in-depth knowledge of our wine range.

Vineyard to Vendor
- Take ownership of your wine knowledge, constantly learning about our products to progress your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.

Store Pride & Compliance
- Ensure the physical appearance and maintenance of your store, both inside and out.
- Stay fully compliant, safe, and legal by following internal policies and completing training.

Operational King/Queen
- Handle all day-to-day store operational tasks:
- Delivering and selling wine.
- Merchandising stock.
- Calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
- Continuously identify improvements to optimise store efficiency and share these with the team.

Team Leader in Practice
- Be a role model for junior team members, embodying Majestic’s Ways of Working.
- Feedback to your Store Manager and take ownership as a key holder (operating the store independently).
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Strong time-management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience every time.
- Self-motivated, able to thrive both independently and in a team.
- Can-do attitude—passionate about solving problems.
- Adaptable and resilient to meet business demands.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Need for wine knowledge—though passion to learn is essential. Aim to achieve level 2 WSET qualifications.
- Must hold:
- A full UK manual transmission driving licence (issued for at least 12 months).
- No more than 6 penalty points.

Job Specifics
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 12–15 hours per week
- Availability: Must work evenings and weekends
- Driving: A key role—comfortable driving multiple company vans.
- Please note: A manual transmission driving licence is mandatory for this position (no exceptions).
