The Role: Sales Assistant

As a Sales Assistant, you will:

  • Support your store team in driving sales performance
  • Manage day-to-day store operations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service

Core Responsibilities

Majestic Wine’s customers are at the heart of everything. In this role, you will act as an ambassador for your store, supporting the team in delivering an outstanding shopping experience.

  • Drive store performance by:
    • Maximising sales opportunities
    • Meeting and exceeding targets by focusing on KPI delivery

  • Deliver market-leading customer service to drive business growth, foster customer loyalty, and encourage repeat purchases

  • Provide a VIP concierge service, proactively contacting customers for:

    • Support efforts towards achieving WSET qualification
  • Take ownership over:

    • Wine knowledge by continuously learning the product range

  • Assisting with operational tasks, such as:

    • Delivering wine to customers
    • Merchandising stock
    • Making calls to promote sales
  • Identify continuously improving opportunities for operational efficiency, sharing ideas with your team

  • Ensure full compliance, safety, and adherence to legal standards through:

    • Following internal policies
    • Completing mandatory training

-Support junior team members and uphold Majestic’s Ways of Working

  • As a key holder, lead store operations by managing:
    • Opening and closing compliance independently

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Time management, delegation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service consistently
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in both individual and team environments
  • Problem-solving attitude with a passion for seeing issues through to resolution
  • Adaptability, resilience, and flexibility to meet business demands
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
  • Beneficial: Existing wine knowledge essential: Passion for learning with a commitment to completing WSET Level 2 Wine Qualification
  • Full UK manual-transmission driving licence, held for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points

Job Specifics

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: 18 – 24 hours per week
  • Shift Work: Available to work evenings and weekends
  • Required Ability: Willingness to drive with our company vans
