Retail Security Officer

Retail Security Officer – Morrisons Brampton

About the Role

Working Hours: This position is based at Morrisons Brampton, with a Monday to Friday shift from 11:00–22:00.

As a Retail Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding customers, staff, and stock, creating a secure and welcoming shopping environment. Your presence will act as a deterrent against criminal activity while ensuring excellent customer service and efficient response to incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and anti-social behaviour
  • Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for any suspicious activity
  • Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating escalating where necessary
  • Conduct controlled searches in line with company procedures when required
  • Complete accurate incident reports and observations
  • Work collaboratively with store management and staff on security-related matters
  • Provide a professional, friendly presence to customers and colleagues
  • Assist customers and staff with queries and concerns
  • De-escalate challenging situations with tact and professionalism
  • Adhere to all site procedures, company policies, and legal obligations
  • Support the wider team and undertake additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Right to Work in the UK and ability to undergo a DBS check and BS7858 security clearance
  • Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor (DS) or Security Guarding) with relevant security experience
  • Strong observational skills to identify and report suspicious behaviour
  • Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for effective reporting and interactions
  • A proactive, professional approach to maintaining store security
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings
