Retail Shift Manager

Retail Shift Manager – Lidl

£15.45 - £15.95 per hour | 35+ hour contract | 30-35 days holiday (pro rata) | 10% in-store discount | Enhanced family leave

About the Role

Use your leadership skills to help Lidl maintain its high standards day after day.

As a Retail Shift Manager, you’ll be responsible for keeping a fast-paced, bustling store running smoothly. Here, you’ll:

  • Motivate and develop your team, championing our Leadership and Company Principles
  • Solve problems swiftly, delegate tasks and ensure well-coordinated operations
  • Handle cash processes, stock management and freshness controls to deliver a seamless experience
  • Uphold excellent customer service every time a customer visits

This hands-on role offers clear leadership opportunities, helping you progress and build a rewarding career. You’ll earn competitive pay, with extra earnings for bank holidays and night shifts:

  • £2.00/hour for bank holiday work
  • £3.50/hour for night shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Motivate and guide your team, integrating Lidl’s Leadership and Company Principles
  • Resolve issues efficiently and delegate tasks to maintain shop floor productivity
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive culture where colleagues can thrive together
  • Cover operations as acting manager in the absence of the Store Manager or Deputy Store Manager
  • Oversee food freshness, cashiering, inventory and stock rotation for smooth-running shifts
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences with a personal, high-quality touch

Requirements

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment, achieving targets
  • Strong delegation and motivational skills to empower your staff
  • A calm, patient and professional approach, even under pressure
  • Passion for retail and a commitment to your role within the Store Team
  • A proactive, growth-mindset attitude, helping colleagues and operations progress
