Retail Shift Manager

Retail Shift Manager – Lidl

Summary

  • Competitive pay: £15.45 – £15.95 per hour
    • £2.00/hour for bank holiday work
    • £3.50/hour for night shifts
  • Hours: 35-hour contract Shifts: 5am – 11pm
  • Holiday: 30–35 days per year (pro rata)
  • Additional benefits: 10% in-store discount Enhanced family leave Pension scheme Long service awards

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and guide your team using Lidl’s Leadership and Company Principles
  • Troubleshoot quickly and delegate effectively when challenges arise
  • Foster a collaborative culture that empowers colleagues to succeed
  • Take responsibility for store operations in the absence of senior managers
  • Handle freshness standards, cash processes, inventory, and stock to deliver smooth service daily
  • Ensuring every customer experience meets or exceeds Lidl’s high standards

Requirements

Experience or ability to:

  • Lead a team in a fast-paced, high-demand retail environment
  • Delegate tasks and motivate staff to meet targets
  • Stay calm and professional under pressure
  • Build strong relationships through a kind yet approachable demeanour
  • Develop your team and optimise daily operations with a proactive mindset
