Retail Shift Manager
Retail Shift Manager – Lidl
- Salary: £13.45 to £14.45 per hour
- Contract: 35 - 40 hours per week
- Shifts: Various
- Holiday: 30-35 days (pro rata)
- Discount: 10% in-store discount
- Enhanced family leave
- Additional pay:
- £2.00 per hour for bank holiday shifts
- £3.50 per hour for night shifts

As a Retail Shift Manager, you’ll help us maintain our high standards every day. You’ll:
- Motivate your team
- Oversee shop operations when the Store Manager or Deputy isn’t available
- Handle freshness, cash processes, inventory, and stock to keep shifts running smoothly
- Ensure customers leave with the best possible experience

Responsibilities
- Lead with purpose: Apply Leadership and Company Principles to inspire your team
- Problem-solve swiftly: Tackle challenges effectively and delegate tasks when needed
- Create a positive environment: Foster colleague success and collaboration
- Take operational responsibility: Manage Store operations and colleagues in absence of senior leaders
- Optimise efficiency: Oversee freshness standards, cash handling, inventory, and stock levels
- Deliver exceptional customer service: Ensure every visitor has the best experience

Requirements
Experience and qualities we’re looking for:
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong delegation and motivation skills to boost team performance
- Calm, patient, and friendly approach—stay composed under pressure
- Passion for retail and commitment to thriving as part of the Store Team
- Proactive mindset to encourage colleagues’ development and improve store operations
