Position: Retail social media volunteer

Location: Willow shops across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire

Role Description

An exciting opportunity to support shops with managing different social media channels. With an aim to maximise engagement, promote volunteering and raise awareness of Willow. We currently have eight stores across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire in: Biggleswade, Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead, Hertford, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City, Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City. You can work across all our shops, or just support your local one with their social media.

What’s involved?

You Will Be Involved In

  • Maintaining active social media accounts for the shop
  • Researching and creating creative content for different social media channels
  • Identifying opportunities to establish relationships with local community groups
  • Advertising volunteering opportunities in the shop and diversifying online presence by developing other potential social media channels
  • Keeping up to date with Willow’s events and fundraising campaigns and promoting this across the different channels
  • Thinking of innovative ways to drive online engagement
  • Identifying target audiences and being up to date with current trends

How Long And How Often

We are looking for a volunteer to offer support, committing up to a few hours a week

Location: Willow shops across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

The role will suit you if you are…

This is an ideal role for someone who has experience of using social media channels including Facebook and Instagram and who has an interest in retail, charity retail and sustainability. An affinity with the purpose and values of Willow is key. If you are creative, have good attention to detail and like to work as part of a team, this opportunity is the one for you.

The impact you’ll make…

Your support will help our busy retail team to reach a broader online audience, driving donations, sales and support for Willow in the local area. Ultimately your support will mean Willow can continue to provide special days, treats and breaks, for seriously ill young adults.

What can you expect from us?

You will be a part of a small team, who are on hand to support you with your role and offer any training support where required. You will be provided with all necessary resources available and trained on how to use them. We will keep you informed and updated on how your support benefits the team, Willow and our services.
