Retail Manager – Aberdeen Showroom (Direct to Consumer / High Quality Eyewear Company)

IOLLA is a direct to consumer, independent retailer of high-quality eyewear, designed in-house and enjoyed globally across both online and physical spaces.

Our mission is to become the most popular prescription eyewear brand wherever we operate.

We are delighted to expand our team by recruiting an experienced Retail Manager to join our Aberdeen community, located in the heart of Aberdeen City Centre.

In this role, the Retail Manager will lead our store with exceptional commercial acumen, genuine optical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to service excellence.


What You’ll Do

  • Play the leading role within the retail store team, driving sales, customer experience, and operational excellence—leverage optical knowledge to deepen customer interactions.
  • Role-model behaviours aligned with IOLLA’s core values, ensuring every customer receives service excellence.
  • Confidently guide customers through:
    • Lens choices
    • Frame suitability
    • Prescription requirements
    • Inspire team members to do the same.
  • Commit to team growth, fostering an environment where:
    • Learning
    • Development
    • Progression are integral to daily operations.
  • Proactively identify commercial opportunities to enhance the IOLLA brand:
    • Spot product gaps and training needs
    • Drive service improvements using digital and optical expertise.
  • Drive an exceptional brand experience, ensuring customers feel great in their new eyewear.
  • Serve as the local community ambassador for IOLLA, contributing to:
    • Brand awareness through partnerships, collaborations, and community engagement.
    • Market insights, customer trends, and product feedback for business growth.
  • Maintain exceptional visual merchandising at all times, ensuring:
    • Showrooms meet the highest brand standards.
  • Lead management team externally, responsible for:
    • Operational oversight
    • Stock management
    • Health and Safety compliance

Requirements & Experience

  • 2+ years as a retail manager.
  • Proficiency in a customer-facing role.
  • (Preferred but not essential): Previous optical retail experience.
  • Commercially driven mindset, with a proven ability to:
    • Hit and exceed sales targets.
    • Build high-performing teams.
    • Act as a role model for excellence.
  • Passion for fashion, including:
    • Up-to-date knowledge of seasonal eyewear trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with an ability to:
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
    • Engage with the local community strategically.
  • Organised & strategic, prioritising performance growth.
  • Ownership mindset—embraces learning and view challenges as opportunities.
