About the Role: Store Manager
As a Retail Store Manager, you’ll take full ownership of driving store success while delivering exceptional employee and customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve targets.
- Represent The Works brand with authenticity—inspiring customers and colleagues alike.
- Ensure high standards in visual merchandising, stock availability, and store presentation.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new team members, fostering a supportive, high-performing team.
- Manage rotas, payroll, and operational tasks efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, cash handling, and loss prevention policies.
- Collaborate with Area Managers, other stores, and central teams to implement business initiatives.
- Drive commercial performance through data-informed decision-making.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.

Key Behaviours & Skills
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
✅ Proven experience in retail management. ✅ Strong leadership and team development skills. ✅ A commercially focused mindset with a track record of achieving results. ✅ Excellent communication, planning, and organisational abilities. ✅ Confidence in using data to drive performance improvements. ✅ Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced environments. ✅ Experience in high-volume or value retail, ideally with keen product knowledge. ✅ Familiarity with retail systems, reporting tools, and back-office processes. ✅ Coaching experience in recruitment, training, leadership, and performance management. ✅ Comfortability with tech tools like EPoS, email, video calls, and video equipment.
