The Role: Supervisor

As a Supervisor, you are the ultimate Service Role Model in our store. Alongside Managers, you are responsible for creating a world-class shopping experience. You lead the team, drive productivity while maintaining a positive and fun environment, and inspire through exemplary leadership.

This role operates on a 30-hour-per-week contract. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading day-to-day operations
  • Deputising for Managers
  • Ensuring smooth service delivery across the sales floor and back-end functions

You must be an excellent communicator, working decisively to empower your team with both pace and authority.


Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Support

  • Supervise team members on performance and duties, providing constructive feedback and reporting strength/weakness to management
  • Motivate, guide, and mentor team members to exceed targets while fostering a positive, productive work environment
  • Train new recruits on company standards, customer service, and job duties
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and management to align set stock, logistics, projects, and performance goals

Driving Results

  • Communicate clearly with your team to ensure targets and logistical tasks are met
  • Lead business initiatives—such as email capture campaigns—and support the team in meeting targets
  • Support Managers in delivering on departmental objectives
  • Foster knowledge sharing across the Business to implement best practices

Commercial Flair

  • Make commercial decisions to improve store performance
  • Ensure consistently high Store standards that meet company expectations:
    • Drive "all sizes out" initiatives
    • Escalate stock accessibility issues to management
  • Utilise business reports to identify risks/opportunities, using insights during store visits
  • Stay abreast of industry competition (both high-street and online) to refine the unique Castore customer experience

Developing the Best

  • Take ownership of your professional growth, modelling continuous development for your team
  • Support Managers in recruitment while coaching new hires
  • Foster a culture where wellbeing is prioritised, performance is recognised, and team spirit thrives
  • Adapt your approach to support individual team needs, understanding broader organisational impact

Operations

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, escalating critical issues to Management
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards for customers and staff through preventive actions, aiding compliance
  • Oversee daily store operations:
    • Lead as a keyholder, ensuring processes align with CA’s standards
    • Monitor stock loss and markdown controls to protect revenue streams
  • Stay ahead of future in-store planning (e.g., stock takes, promotional activities)

Future Focus

  • Plan ahead for upcoming initiatives accordingly and brief the team
  • Champion new technology and business innovations, coaching staff on multichannel integration (online/in-store) for growth opportunities

Skills & Experience

Key Skills

  • Proven experience in supervisory/management roles (preferably customer-facing)
  • Retail expertise is a plus
  • Ability to excel in high-targeted sales environments
