Retail Supervisor - Full Time

Retail Supervisor – Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Key Details

  • Hours: 39 hours across 5 days per week
  • Pay: £13.61 per hour (minimum £530 per week)
  • Holiday: 6 weeks (30 days per year)

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a permanent full-time retail supervisor for our shop in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. This is a 5-day role, generally starting each day at 7 AM, with flexible shifts required.

As a retail supervisor, you will be an essential part of the management team, supporting the shop manager in:

  • Ensuring an efficient retail operation
  • Delivering exceptional customer service
  • Supporting a small team of retail assistants

Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Taking full responsibility for running the shop in the manager’s absence, including:
    • Ensuring customers receive top-notch care
    • Processing deliveries efficiently
    • Maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy store
  • Handling key operational tasks: opening/closing the shop, cash management, order processing, and team development
  • Monitoring and controlling operational costs, including:
    • Shrinkage (loss due to theft/damage)
    • Waste reduction
    • Payroll management

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a friendly, proactive, and hard-working attitude
  • Are strong ‘people persons’, capable of building positive working relationships with team members
  • Are trustworthy, reliable, and dependable – this role requires full commitment and availability
  • Have previously held leadership/management positions in retail or a similar industry (though we welcome new talent too!)
  • Are willing to:
    • Undergo a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check (Scotland)
    • Disclose any previous or unspent convictions (employment subject to a satisfactory check)
