Full-Time Retail Supervisor – Permanent (39 hours per week)

Position Overview

We are recruiting for a permanent Retail Supervisor role at our shop in Bransholme, Hull. This is a 5-day-per-week (39 hours) position offering flexibility across various shifts, including weekends.

Full flexibility is required to ensure coverage across all shifts, as we generally need staff to be available throughout the week during full-time roles.

Salary: £13.61 per hour Guaranteed minimum: 39 hours per week (~£530 per week) Additional earnings: Potential overtime opportunities for those prepared to work additional hours.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Retail Supervisor, you’ll be a key member of the shop management team with responsibility for:

  • Team leadership: Supporting and guiding a small team of retail assistants in delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Shop operations: Opening/closing the shop, managing cash, processing deliveries, and managing stock operations.
  • Customer focus: Ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Operational management: Monitoring and reducing operational costs (including shrinkage, waste, and payroll costs) while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and efficiency.
  • Autonomy: Taking full responsibility for running the shop in the absence of senior management, including troubleshooting issues in-person.

Overview of Key Responsibilities

✔ Workplace excellence – Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment. ✔ Team development – Assign tasks, provide support, and develop retail assistants’ skills. ✔ Financial accountability – Optimise daily operational costs, including payroll, waste reduction and theft prevention. ✔ Service delivery – Accurately process sales, timely order fulfilment, and efficient delivery logistics. ✔ Service recovery – Resolve customer concerns and handle any issues promptly.

Experience note:

While relevant retail/supervisory experience is ideal, we welcome applications from motivated individuals with transferable management skills.
