Retirement Housing Officer
Role at Platform Housing Group Salary: Up to £22,789 pro rata (£17.47 per hour) plus £55 sleep-in payments Location: Harling Court, Ledbury Basis: Permanent, part-time (average 25 hours/week, 4-week rolling rota)
About the Role
Are you a Housing Officer with a passion for Specialist Housing or Supported Living?
We are looking for a Retirement Housing Officer to join our Specialist Housing team at Harling Court, Ledbury. This part-time role (with occasional office training visits) involves supporting vulnerable adults while working a shift pattern that covers late evenings and sleep-in duties:
- Typical Work Pattern:
- Two shifts per week: 9am–10pm
- Followed by a one-hour handover and £55 sleep-in payment the next morning

Key Responsibilities
As a Retirement Housing Officer, you will deliver a tailored housing and tenancy management service to ensure residents’ sustainability and well-being.
- Tenancy and Resident Support:
- Be a flexible, regular contact for residents, providing practical and preventative support and advice.
- Signpost residents to specialist care and support services to enhance wellbeing, socialisation, and reduce isolation.
- Resolve complex customer issues with empathy and professionalism.

Property and Compliance Management:
- Conduct property inspections, risk assessments, and health & safety (H&S) compliance checks.
- Investigate and take timely action on reported tenancy breaches.

Building and System Management:
- Monitor building systems (e.g., security, utilities) and report any issues.
Person Specification

Essential Experience:
- Proven experience working in a customer-facing role within housing organisations or community/retirement housing (especially with older people).
- Experience assisting vulnerable adults would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse Groups.

Technical and Administrative Requirements:
- Confident using digital devices, ICT software, and property management systems.
- Minimum standard UK driving license (preferably full). Use of a personal vehicle for duty travel is required.

- Enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
