[Retrieval Care Assistant – Launceston, Cornwall]
Bristol Ambulance (Part of Emed Group) have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Retrieval Care Assistant to join their team, based in Launceston, Cornwall.
About the Role
As a Retrieval Care Assistant, you’ll support the retrieval and safe transport of patients, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing throughout the journey. You’ll work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating closely with skilled clinicians to deliver outstanding patient care.
This role operates on a flexible 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, providing genuine work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and professional care to patients during retrieval and transport
- Support clinicians in ensuring safe and effective patient transfers
- Maintain clear communication with teams and relatives
- Assist in loading and securing patients for transfer (may involve manual handling)
- Ensure vehicles and specialist equipment meet operational standards
- Operate within strict clinical protocols and safety guidelines

Selection Criteria
- Must hold a valid C1 driving licence
- Must possess a blue light qualification
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Good physical fitness required for patient mobility assistance
