Revenue Accountant
Professional Services Business
Liverpool (Hybrid - 2 days a week)
£45,000 - £50,000 per annum + Benefits
I'm currently partnering with a professional services business seeking a qualified Revenue Accountant to join their expanding finance team in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to take ownership of a key revenue-focused area, working within a dynamic finance function that is undergoing continued growth, systems development and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly revenue accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls across revenue-related accounts
- Review and post month-end journals, supporting the delivery of a high-quality close process
- Act as a key point of contact for revenue and billing-related queries across the business
- Analyse financial data, investigate variances and resolve discrepancies where required
- Support compliance with UK GAAP and wider group reporting requirements
- Monitor deferred income balances and ensure underlying records remain accurate and fully supported
- Work closely with operational and finance stakeholders to improve the quality and efficiency of financial processes
- Review billing activity and identify opportunities to strengthen controls and reduce risk
- Contribute to ongoing automation and process improvement initiatives within the finance function
- Support finance transformation projects, including ERP and reporting enhancements
- Assist with audit requests and maintain clear documentation to support compliance requirements

About You:
- Essential - Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- At least 1 year post-qualified experience
- Experience within financial accounting, revenue accounting or a similarly complex accounting environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, with exposure to UK GAAP preferred
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs and data analysis
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large volumes of data
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Confident communicator capable of building strong relationships across the business
- Experience supporting process improvements, systems changes or automation projects is advantageous
- Exposure to Power BI, Power Query etc

Location:
This role is based in Liverpool with flexible hybrid working. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and business collaboration.
