Revenue Coordinator
Global, fast growing independent Law Firm seeks a ambitious and experienced Revenue Coordinator to join their expanding finance team. It is a new and unique role to the firm, responsible for supporting partners and fee earners in the effective management of the firm's Work in Progress (WIP), billing pipeline and aged debt. The role focuses on providing timely reporting, analysis and proactive guidance to help partners improve their revenue performance, reduce aged debt and convert WIP into billed and collected revenue.
This role offers the opportunity to shape and develop the function as the business continues to grow. Success will depend on combining previous experience with the flexibility to adapt established approaches to fit the firm's culture and evolving needs. As the function evolves, there may be opportunities to help build and expand the team.
Revenue Coordinator - Key Responsibilities:
Aged Debt Management
- Produce regular aged debt reports and analysis for partners, highlighting overdue balances, collection trends and opportunities to improve debt recovery.
- Build trusted working relationships with partners and fee earners, holding regular debt review meetings to agree collection strategies, resolve issues delaying payment and improve overall debt performance.
- Implement strategies for reducing aged debt.
- Support partners in managing client relationships by undertaking direct contact with clients to recover outstanding invoices where requested or agreed as part of the collection strategy.

Revenue and WIP Management
- Monitor WIP across the firm, producing regular reports for management and partners that highlight aged balances, billing opportunities and key revenue risks.
- Act as a key revenue contact to review WIP, identify billing challenges, remove barriers and agree action plans to support the timely conversion of WIP into billed revenue.
- Encourage best practice across the firm in time recording, billing discipline and matter management to support timely billing and maximise revenue recovery.
- Process write-offs and write-downs in accordance with firm policy and agreed authorisations.
Reporting & Analysis
- Analyse trends and provide meaningful commentary to support decision-making by partners and senior management.
- Highlight potential risks to cash flow and recommend actions to improve recovery and reduce lock-up.
- Assist with month-end reporting and revenue forecasting as required.
Compliance & Process Improvement:
- Ensure billing and revenue activities comply with firm policies, client requirements and SRA Accounts Rules.
- Support continuous improvement of revenue management processes and reporting, promoting consistent billing and debt management practices across the firm.
- Assist with audits relating to WIP, billing and receivables where required.

Revenue Coordinator - Required Skills & Experience:
- 3–5 years’ experience in credit control and WIP management within a law firm or client servicing business (eg. PR, Design, Engineering, Architecture)
- Good understanding of legal billing processes, WIP management and revenue recognition.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and influencing skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with partners, fee earners and, where required, clients.
- Good negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to agree practical solutions that support timely billing and debt recovery while maintaining positive relationships.
- Comfortable discussing outstanding balances and billing matters directly with clients when requested by the responsible partner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel - legal practice management systems (e.g. ActionStep) would be highly advantageous
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional, discreet and able to handle confidential financial information.
