Revenue Officer

Revenue Officer – Bromsgrove & Redditch Councils

About the Role

Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services and are committed to being a customer-driven organisation, with our customers at the heart of everything we do. We aim to improve delivery services that make a difference to the communities we serve.

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Revenue Officer to join our Finance and Customer Services team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Administrating and collecting Council Tax and Business Rates
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service to residents and businesses

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Council Tax and Business Rates accounts, including liability, discounts, and reliefs
  • Process changes in circumstances and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor payments, arrange refunds, and support recovery actions
  • Provide clear advice and support to customers and stakeholders
  • Handle queries, appeals, and correspondence in a professional manner
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners

About You

  • Experience working in a Revenues environment (minimum 3 years preferred)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Numerate and confident handling financial information
  • Able to manage your own workload and work as part of a team
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Committed to continuous improvement and delivering excellent service
