Job Details
We’re looking for an experienced Revenues and Benefits Manager to join our team, ensuring the effective delivery of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit, and Corporate Fraud operations while shaping how the service evolves for the future.
Reporting to the Head of Customer Services, Revenues and Benefits, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership across all team functions, ensuring that our services are efficient, effective, compliant with statutory requirements, and deliver on our Corporate Priorities. And you’ll be joining us at a very exciting time as our LGR journey picks up pace, presenting an opportunity to shape the future service in a new Unitary Authority.
What You’ll Do
- Lead on the day-to-day running of the Revenues & Benefits service, driving performance and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Balance day-to-day operational delivery with strategic planning in line with Corporate and Government priorities.
- Lead on service improvement through digital transformation and smarter ways of working to ensure efficiency while improving customer outcomes.
- Lead on complex cases, appeals, and service challenges with confidence.

What You’ll Bring
- Leadership experience in a Revenues & Benefits team, confident in managing performance, people, and change in a fast-moving environment.
- Confident communication with the ability to inspire, support, empower, and develop teams, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, forward-thinking approach and a willingness to challenge how things are done.
