Reward Specialist

Location: Halifax – hybrid Salary: £50-£55,000 + bonus Type: Permanent

In a leading Halifax organisation, we’re seeking a Reward Specialist to help shape the employee experience through reward, benefits, and payroll. This role combines commercial reward strategy with operational payroll administration, offering a dynamic mix of influence and execution.

You’ll join our People function, collaborating across leadership, finance, and the business to create fair, competitive, and strategic reward solutions while ensuring accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll processing.


The Opportunity

Your role will bridge the gap between strategic reward initiatives and practical payroll operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing pay structures, incentives, and employee benefits strategies
  • Supporting business growth and ensuring competitive remuneration
  • Ensuring 100% payroll accuracy, compliance with UK legislation, and timely execution
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to advocate for transformative reward solutions
  • Drive employee engagement through clear communication and transparent policies

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a range of essential skills and experience:

  • Expertise in employees rewards and compensation strategy
  • Proficiency in analysing payroll data, detecting trends, and presenting clear recommendations
  • Hyper-attention to detail complemented by a naturally analytical and logical approach
  • Deep knowledge of UK payroll laws, compliance frameworks, and industry standards
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with core HR/payroll systems
  • Exceptional communicators who can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to build rapport and incent trust at all organisational levels
