About The Role

The RF Engineer at Filtronic Plc plays a vital role in the design, development, and delivery of high-performance RF and mmWave products. This position demands a highly skilled professional with:

  • Advanced technical expertise in RF/microwave engineering
  • Experience in circuit design and testing
  • Strong problem-solving ability

The engineer will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to drive project success, adhere to engineering standards, and contribute to the company’s evolving product roadmap. Requirements include:

  • 3-5 years of experience in:
    • RF and mmWave circuit design
    • Simulation (ideally using tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST)
    • Testing in laboratory environments
  • Hands-on expertise with:
    • RF measurements and characterization
    • Troubleshooting and performance optimisation
  • Proficiency in:
    • RF system analysis
    • Team-based collaboration
  • Beneficial traits:
    • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance for RF products
    • Innovative thinking to solve multifaceted design challenges

Responsibilities

The RF Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading design, simulation, and development of RF/microwave circuits, components, and subsystems, ensuring performance aligns with project specifications.
  • Conducting detailed RF system analysis and resolving complex design challenges through optimisation and troubleshooting.
  • Performing RF measurements, characterization, and validation testing to confirm design performance and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborating with teams in systems engineering, manufacturing, and product management for integrated, end-to-end solution delivery.
  • Driving technology-development initiatives by proposing innovative design solutions and participating in R&D activities.
  • Maintaining high engineering standards through rigorous documentation of design processes, test procedures, and results.
  • Supporting technical documentation, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Staying updated on emerging RF/microwave and mmWave technologies, regulatory changes, and industry advancements.
