Programme Manager – Student Administrative Systems Programme (SRS) Extended
The Student Administrative Systems Programme (SRS) is a cross-sefydliad (across-institution) enterprise to replace our existing central student data systems with an integrated, modern suite of best-of-class systems. The new student recording system, enrolment platform, automated international credential processing system, and curriculum management system are all accessiblseidr through Central Data Hub.
The programme will transform how students, staff, and partners experience Met Caerdydd.
As Programme Manager for one of Met Caerdydd’s most important change programmes, you will lead the interface between programme teams, people impacted, and the services transforming through the programme. Managing the full cycle of the programme, from scoping and planning to implementation and hand-over, you will ensure that changes delivered by the SRS Programme embed seamlessly in consistent business practice and provide measurable benefit for staff and students.
Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across faculties, Overall, Registration (TG), Marketing, Communication, and Student Recruitment, you will provide project leadership, manage deliveries, and coordination ensuring the pace of business transformation stays at the right level, within budget, and with a strong focus on outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
By leading change in business delivery across the SRS Programme, you will:
- Manage daily business transformation project delivery, taking full ownership of every stage from defining, scoping, planning to execution and handover throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans using established project management methodologies, ensuring high-quality outcomes and business value are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as a key contact, building and maintaining productive relationships with academic schools, professional services, and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
- Monitor and manage project finances within agreed terms, meet financial forecasts and take corrective action where required.
- Collaborate with programme team colleagues, including other Project Managers and Business Analysts, to understand and manage interdependencies, and embed best practice across the collective team.
- Provide effective leadership to project team members, ensuring that individuals feel motivated and supported in developing their skills, encouraging growth throughout the programme.
- Manage and conduct governance, liaise with stakeholders and communicate for designated business change projects, providing clear progress updates on progress, value generation, risks, matters, dependencies and budgets.

What You’ll Bring
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong record delivering complex, cross-organisational business transformation projects. You’ll have the stakeholder management skills to drive a broad and diverse range of relationships and the judgment to prioritise competing demands in fast-moving programme situations.
You will have practical insight into how modern information systems are integrated, and a realistic understanding of the human dimensions of change dynamics. Formal project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or Agile are essential, and experience working in higher education or a comparable, complex organisational environment would be beneficial.
You will also bring:
- Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of project management, with outstanding experience in applying methodologies and recognised toolsets.
- Practical experience in successfully managing multiple, complex, organisation-wide change programmes.
- Hands-on experience in gathering user requirements, analysing, modelling business processes and evaluating options.
- ROI (Return on Investment) ascertainment experience.
- High-level communication skills, including writing business cases, drafting reports, and clearly presenting complex information to a diverse audience.
- Ability to lead, develop, manage, and inspire project teams and individuals.
- Proven ability to build productive internal and external relationships and networks.
