Who we are?
When damage stops dreams, we are at the start. When fires close doors, we open them. And when belts come to a standstill, we pull out all the stops. We are the world's largest loss adjuster with more than 12,500 employees in 30 countries. We are ready for whatever comes. Are you ready for us? BELFOR. Ready when you are.
We’re seeking a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS/FRICS) with strong insurance claims experience to assess building damage, produce reinstatement scopes and costs, and guide clients through the claim journey. You’ll translate complex building pathology into clear actions, ensuring fair, fast and compliant outcomes.
Job Description
Inspect fire, flood, impact and escape-of-water losses; diagnose cause and extent of damage. Prepare reinstatement scopes, cost plans and valuations aligned to RICS standards. Liaise with insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, contractors and policyholders; manage expectations and timelines. Produce high-quality, evidence-based reports with photos, drawings and cost breakdowns. Oversee works through to completion where required (project monitoring / contract administration). Champion compliance with RICS ethics, Building Regulations and CDM duties, as applicable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
