Job Description
Make your mark as Commercial Specialist at Boskalis Subsea Services in Aberdeen. You shall support the business’ strategic objective of becoming commercially aware and commercially focused. In addition, you will provide contractual and commercial support to the Project teams and the Commercial Department to ensure that all such projects comply with, and meet the obligations and responsibilities under the Client Contract. Further, you shall be responsible for mitigating its contractual and commercial risk whilst optimizing its project delivery and maximizing the contract to the benefit of Boskalis.
Your main responsibilities as Commercial Specialist:
- Review and understand the terms and conditions and obligations agreed to under the main contract, supporting the Project Manager with their understanding
- Contribute to the compilation and updating of the Project Opportunity and Risk Register (ORR)
- Attend weekly project team meetings (internal and external)
- Facilitate project bonds, guarantees and insurances required by Client contract
- Responsible for providing the Client with vessel mobilisation notifications in line with the Contract
- Responsible for reviewing the vessel summary document (Client Cost Tracker) using Daily Project Report (DPR) ensuring accuracy.
- Support and work with the Project Controller to track and accurately forecast all costs in the Boskalis ERP system and BCR reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of the relevant sections with the monthly BCR
- Identify goods and services to be procured for a project in conjunction with Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Subcontract Specialist and Procurement Specialist to allow the Subcontracts Specialist to populate a Subcontract and Procurement Plan
- Support Subcontract Specialist with the identification of the main contract flow downs to be incorporated into the subcontract.

Qualifications
You can make your mark as Commercial Specialist if you have:
- 7+ years relevant work experience in a subsea/oil and gas commercial/contracts project environment.
- University Degree preferred within Law, Business or Quantity Surveying qualification, or relevant experience as Commercial/Contracts Specialist.
- Understanding of LOGIC and FIDIC contracting principles and has the ability to translate such contracts into subcontract arrangements.
- Working knowledge in project execution.
- Sound commercial understanding and the ability to apply these to project delivery.
- Previous experience of cost tracking and forecasting.
