Rights Executive, Illusrated

Rights Executive, Illustrated

Are you motivated to build on your experience and take an exciting step into selling rights and supporting global publications? We are seeking a Rights Executive to join the team selling rights in illustrated books across Penguin Random House to support our business in North America and Germany.

About the Team

The Penguin Random House Group Rights department makes our books go global. Within this department, the Adult Illustrated Rights team represents an amazing roster of author talent—from Jamie Oliver, Yotam Ottolenghi, Charlie Mackesy, and Vivi Tinta. We work on illustrated titles across seven adult publishing divisions: Ebury, Michael Joseph, Vintage, Penguin Press, Cornerstone, and Transworld.

The Role

The Rights Executive will collaborate with the Rights Director to:

  • Extend sales, author care, and customer service in North America and Germany
  • Proactively track and manage North American and German deals
  • Provide administrative support to the Rights Director
  • Achieve strong sales performance on allocated titles

Working closely with customers, agents, and authors—as well as colleagues from Editorial, Production, Marketing, and Publicity—you’ll help implement the rights vision, direction, and goals to maximise sales and customer opportunities in North America and Germany, under the guidance of the Rights Director.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
