Job Description And Person Specification
Job Title: Risk Analyst
Key Relationships:
Internally: Risk Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk Owners, Control Reporters, Underwriters, Claims and managers of support functions.
Externally: Regulators.
Job Summary:
To facilitate the efficient operation of the risk management framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in enhancing, implementing and embedding core components of the enterprise risk management framework.
- Support the team in its core risk assurance processes, which will include activities such as leading the preparation of materials for the risk and control self-attestation.
- Support the risk managers in providing challenge of Beazley’s first line processes around key risks to the business, including operational risk, group risk, strategic risk and legal and regulatory risk.
- Play a key role in maintaining the risk management system and data to ensure it is complete and up to date.
- Manage the ongoing development of the risk management system functionality and supporting processes.
- Aid in maintaining Beazley’s risk management framework documentation, ensuring they are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Help prepare risk management reports for appropriate committees.
- Ensure close collaboration with other risk managers, sharing their workload as appropriate.
- Participate in project work as required.
- Build and maintain a network of internal and external contacts.
- Keep abreast of market best practice and regulatory requirements.
Specific
- Maintain Beazley’s risk management system data and ensure it is complete and up to date
- Support the ongoing development of risk management system functionality and supporting processes. Act as the system point person for the business and interact with the vendor and IT department as required.
- Support Beazley’s risk and control self assessment (RCSA) and reporting cycle.
- Maintain operational risk management reporting across different platforms (i.e. PowerBI, Excel)
- Provide risk management focused technical and analytical support to the Risk team and wider business

General

Personal Specification
Essential Criteria
- One to three years of experience in insurance and risk management advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience of risk management framework and tools.
- Understanding of commercial drivers and dynamics affecting risk decisions in the insurance sector.
- Understanding of the processes associated with an international insurance group, both from an operational and risk perspective.
