Salary: In the region of £40,000 depending on experience, plus car/allowance, bonus, and other Veolia benefits Grade: 6.1 Location: Mobile with travel covering North London and Home Counties (incl. Solihull, Northampton, Watford, South Bucks, Haringey, St Albans, Brent, Wembley)

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Mindfulness: Actively support business risk & assurance initiatives by:
    • Conducting regular site visits (aligned to annual plans)
    • Ensuring compliance with safety & operational standards
    • Undertaking audits, including engagement visits and monitoring improvement progress
  • Multi-Faceted Coverage: Work across:
    • Municipal waste collections
    • Streetcleaning teams
    • Transfer stations
    • Fleet workshops
  • Engagement & Improvement: Collaborate with teams to:
    • Identify opportunities for enhancement
    • Provide actionable solutions
  • Stakeholder Liaison:
    • Partner closely with the Municipal Risk & Assurance Manager
    • Support operations and engage with external stakeholders (regulators, customers)
    • Act as an advisory resource for industry best practices
  • Client Advocacy: Advise clients on cost-effective, compliant operational strategies.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven track record in a Safety Advisor or similar role, ideally within waste management
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • demonstrable auditing experience
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at site level
  • Stellar communication & interpersonal skills to:
    • Deliver customer-first service
    • Interface effectively internally and externally
