Risk and Assurance Manager
We’re seeking an exceptional Risk and Assurance Manager to shape a confident, forward-thinking approach to risk, data protection, and assurance at Yorkshire Housing. You’ll help drive smart decision-making, protect our most valuable assets, and build a secure future for our customers.
About Yorkshire Housing
We’re not your typical housing provider—we’re delivering 20,000+ homes (with 8,000 new developments across Yorkshire in our pipeline). Our mission is to create exceptional customer experiences while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and customer obsession.
This role represents a critical opportunity to evolve our Data Protection, Risk, and Assurance function, ensuring our organisation operates with strength, transparency, and strategic foresight.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Risk and Assurance Manager, you’ll:
- Lead risk and data protection: Oversee our framework, compliance, and business continuity processes, ensuring we meet standards while remaining practical and forward-looking.
- Support confident decision-making: Act as a trusted advisor, guiding the business to prioritise owning risk over avoiding it—the "right thing" over the "easy thing."
- Develop and inspire your team: Build a culture where colleagues thrive, feel empowered, and collaborate effectively.
- Partner with leadership: Provide actionable insights to the Board and senior management, ensuring strategic alignment with customer needs.
- Foster excellence: Ensure all risk and assurance practices help Yorkshire Housing remain safe, resilient, and customer-centric.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
