Risk & Compliance Manager (Accountancy Practice) - London - £70-75,000

Our client, a leading UK accountancy and business advisory firm, is looking to appoint a Risk & Compliance Manager to join its growing Risk & Compliance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional with an audit background who is looking to move away from client-facing work into a varied and highly visible internal role.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will help ensure the firm continues to meet its regulatory and ethical obligations while supporting the ongoing development of its risk and compliance framework.

The Role

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting the firm's audit quality, ethics and compliance activities.
  • Advising partners and fee earners on regulatory, ethical and professional matters.
  • Monitoring compliance with internal policies and professional standards.
  • Preparing reports for internal governance committees.
  • Supporting external regulatory inspections and reviews.
  • Researching technical and regulatory developments and communicating their impact across the business.
  • Reviewing and updating firm policies, guidance and compliance documentation.
  • Preparing internal communications and training materials.
  • Delivering training sessions on risk, ethics and compliance matters.
  • Supporting firmwide strategic and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervising and developing junior members of the Risk & Compliance team.
  • Undertaking targeted file reviews where appropriate.

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong external audit or general practice experience.
  • Previous exposure to risk, ethics, audit quality or compliance would be advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding of professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A pro-active approach and a genuine interest in quality, governance and continuous improvement.

Knowledge of areas such as ISQM 1, the FRC Ethical Standard, ICAEW Code of Ethics, ISA (UK), UK GAAP and IFRS would be highly beneficial.
