Risk & Compliance Specialist (Med Tech/SaMD)

Group Risk & Compliance Coordinator

Location Dublin, UK, or hybrid remote (with occasional travel to Dublin, UK, or USA).

Critical Disclosure

This role is not for traditional risk/compliance professionals from banking, insurance, or finance. If you’ve spent your career in financial services and want more of the same, please do not apply.

Deciphex is a medtech company operating at the intersection of AI-powered medical software, clinical services, global commercial contracts, investment ESG obligations, and multi-entity supply chains. This role is not a specialist function—it’s the central connector tying everything together.

There is no team structure beneath this role. It is a hands-on operational procedure with standardized processes and protocols, but many will require you to build systems from scratch. Success depends on ownership, adaptability, and curiosity.

This is a real job with real impact, offering a fast-growing medtech environment—but only if you thrill to variety, ownership, and broken norms. If you prefer a defined “lane,” keep looking.

Role Purpose

Own and execute the operational risk & compliance, insurance, and ESG workload for the Deciphex Group under the Director of Group Risk & Compliance (CRCO).

  • The CRCO sets direction and framework; you implement it daily.
  • This is the operational engine of the function.
  • No strategic, governance, board or regulator-facing work—this is execution.

Core Workstreams & Responsibilities

1. Risk & Compliance Coordination

  • Maintain and prioritise the group risk register, ensuring that critical signals rise to the surface.
  • Aggregate risk inputs from across the global team into a single, Board and investor-ready report.
  • Spot blind spots others miss and make clear, actionable recommendations.

2. Critical Supplier Risk

  • Identify and map supplier dependencies that could cripple operations.
  • Ensure risks are tracked, understood, and proactively managed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

3. Insurance Programme

  • Multijurisdictional renewals (focus: Ireland, UK, US, Canada)
  • Manage mid-term changes, certificates, and broker submissions.
  • Coordinate claims handling.

4. ESG Data Reporting

  • Gather, validate, and quality-check annual ESG data for investor reporting and due diligence.
  • Work with specialists, but own the integrity of the output.

5. Incident & Compliance Coordination

  • Maintain the group incident log, assign ownership, and drive closure.
  • Prepare audit packs and support diligence inquiries.

6. Compliance Calendar & Operation Run

  • Build and maintain the consolidated compliance calendar (audits, policy reviews, regulatory deadlines, renewals).
  • Pull status updates for CRCO’s reporting.

What This Role Does Not Do

❌ Design frameworks, policies, or registers (CRCO’s remit). ❌ Engage with boards, audit committees, or regulators directly. ❌ Set policies, escalation matrices, or risk appetite thresholds. ❌ Lead incident investigations, audit responses, or specialised compliance work. ❌ Own clinical governance, ISO 27001, GDPR, AI Act, or MDR submissions. ❌ Negotiate contracts or interpret legal assessments.

Person Specification

Essential

✔ 5+ years in risk/compliance, but not in financial services (healthcare/medtech/Life Sciences preferred). ✔ Multi-stakeholder coordination—drive projects, check outputs, escalate only when necessary. ✔ Manage 10+ live workstreams simultaneously without losing track of items. ✔ Experience with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), prioritisation for senior decision-makers. ✔ Discretion—handle sensitive commercial, insurance, and operational data appropriately. ✔ Self-starting—own complex workflows independently with a judicious workload distiller. ✔ Strong organisational skills: Calendar-driven, meticulous, deadline-driven.

Desirable (But Not Necessary)

🔹 Experience in supplier/vendor dependency mapping or resilience assessments. 🔹 Working familiarity with GDPR, ISO 27001, MDR/IVDR, CLIA/CAP (able to parse and coordinate). 🔹 Group/compliance experience across multi-geographies and entities. 🔹 Basic ESG reporting understanding (formats like GRI, SASB/ESRS/GATE).

Judgment Above Infrastructure

We don’t need experts in every function. ESG is learnable; insurance is trainable. What matters is bringing instinctive judgement:

  • Screening 50+ risks across 10+ teams and picking the 2 that truly demand attention.
  • Deciding when to push back on processes, when to adapt, and when to fight for change.
  • Using rigour (not blind automation), and collaboration (not defensiveness).

Why Apply? What We Offer

🔸 Flat hierarchy but structural direction from the CRCO. 🔸 Hands-on exposure across insurance, vendor risk, ESG, and compliance. 🔸 Competitive salary + BHP (restricted share plan). 🔸 Remote-first work flexibility.
