The Opportunity

As Stantec continues to grow across the Energy sector, we are building our pipeline of talented Risk Management professionals for future opportunities across the UK. Whether you are looking to develop your career in risk management or bring existing programme and project risk expertise to a growing team, we would love to hear from you.

Our Risk Management team supports some of the UK’s largest and most complex infrastructure programmes, helping clients make informed decisions, manage uncertainty, and successfully deliver critical projects. From major capital investment programmes through to nationally significant infrastructure schemes, our team provides industry-leading risk management services that drive better project outcomes.

Joining Stantec means becoming part of a collaborative and supportive environment where you'll have the opportunity to work alongside recognised risk management experts, build strong client relationships, and contribute to projects that positively impact communities across the UK.

About The Role

As part of our Risk Management team, you will work with programme management, project controls, and delivery teams to support clients in identifying, assessing, and managing risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Depending on your level of experience, you could be involved in a broad range of risk management activities, from supporting risk workshops and maintaining risk registers through to leading the development and delivery of tailored risk management frameworks for major programmes and projects.

You will work closely with clients across the Water, Energy, and Transport sectors, helping them understand and manage project and programme risks while integrating risk management with wider project controls disciplines. The role may include facilitating risk workshops, developing risk reporting and governance processes, conducting qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, and supporting the implementation of mitigation strategies.

For more experienced professionals, there will be opportunities to lead risk management services across major programmes, advise on best-practice risk frameworks, deliver Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis (QCRA) and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA), and become a trusted advisor to key clients.

As part of a growing and highly collaborative team, you will have access to mentoring, training, and development opportunities that support long-term career progression within risk management and project controls.

Your Impact

In this role, you will help organisations successfully navigate uncertainty and improve the delivery of major infrastructure programmes. Through effective risk identification, assessment, and management, you will provide valuable insight that supports informed decision-making and strengthens project performance.

By collaborating with programme teams, project controls specialists, and clients, you will help ensure that risks and opportunities are understood, monitored, and managed proactively throughout the project lifecycle. Your contribution will support improved forecasting, enhanced governance, and stronger delivery outcomes across complex projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
