About the Role
Due to an internal promotion, we have a 12-month FTC available for a Risk and Controls Specialist to join MotoNovo Finance. We're not looking for someone who simply follows the process. We're looking for someone who asks why.
Someone who's naturally curious. Someone who digs deeper, spots what others miss, and isn't afraid to challenge when something doesn't feel right. Someone who genuinely cares about protecting customers, supporting the business, and making things better.
If you're the type of person who can't let a problem go unexplored, enjoys asking difficult questions, and takes pride in helping a business operate safely and effectively, we'd love to hear from you.
What Will Your Day Look Like?
As a Risk & Control Specialist, you'll be a trusted partner to the business, helping us identify, assess, and manage non-financial risks while strengthening the control environment across MotoNovo Finance.
- You'll work closely with colleagues across the first and second lines of defence, senior leaders, and subject matter experts, providing constructive challenge, practical guidance, and independent thinking.
- One day you might be investigating a risk event, identifying root causes, and ensuring robust actions are in place.
- The next, you'll be facilitating risk workshops, presenting insights at governance forums, or challenging stakeholders on how risks and issues are being managed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
