Risk Manager - Plymouth

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join the team.

About The Role

The Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project by identifying, assessing and managing project risks throughout the project lifecycle. Reporting to the Project Manager, the role works closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure risks and opportunities are effectively monitored, mitigated and communicated. The successful candidate will help maintain project governance, support informed decision-making and contribute to the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of complex infrastructure works.

Key Deliverables

  • Maintain and regularly update project risk registers.
  • Chair risk review meetings and facilitate risk workshops.
  • Produce risk dashboards, reports and meeting minutes.
  • Identify, assess and monitor project risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and track risk mitigation actions.
  • Support quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis where required.
  • Maintain project assumptions and supporting documentation.
  • Provide strategic risk reporting to project leadership.
  • Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders and suppliers to manage emerging risks.
  • Ensure compliance with project governance, processes and procedures.

Essential Key Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years' relevant experience, including at least two years in a management or leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Sound understanding of project risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Experience managing risk within large infrastructure, engineering or capital projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and assess impacts.
  • Strong organisational, planning and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills and experience producing reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to obtain or hold the appropriate security clearance, where required.
