Risk Manager - Credit

Experienced Risk Manager (Credit Portfolios) – Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund

Overview

A leading multi-strategy hedge fund is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to provide front-office-aligned risk coverage across Credit trading businesses. This role will partner directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Senior Leadership to oversee market risk, portfolio construction, stress testing, and trading exposures across a broad range of equity volatility strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Provide daily risk oversight across Credit portfolios
  • Partner closely with Portfolio Managers and Traders to:
    • Challenge positioning
    • Evaluate concentration risk
    • Optimise portfolio construction
  • Monitor and analyse key market risk metrics, including:
    • Value-at-Risk (VaR)
    • Stress testing & scenario analysis
    • Factor and correlation exposures
    • Liquidity and concentration risk
  • Conduct deep-dive reviews of trading books to identify emerging portfolio risks
  • Assess:
    • Volatility surface exposures
    • Skew positioning
    • Convexity risks across strategies
  • Evaluate risk across all credit strategies
  • Produce actionable risk commentary and communicate findings to:
    • Investment teams
    • Senior management
  • Collaborate with Quantitative Research, Technology, and Trading teams to enhance:
    • Risk infrastructure
    • Analytical tools

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in a risk role, with preference for Credit Strategies
  • Education:
    • Masters degree in Finance/Quantitative/Engineering (PhD preferred)
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Factor-based risk analysis
    • Portfolio construction or optimisation techniques
