At the heart of Hastings is deep risk insight - continually improving how we assess, segment and price risk through data and analytics. Role overview To lead a team of Risk Pricing Analysts in order to deliver overall profit and growth targets for underwriting through adjustments to the risk pricing models Key Accountabilities: Developing & delivering new insight, including the integration of new data, new analytical techniques and new ways of working Identifying opportunities to improve our risk pricing models in order to expand our competitive footprint or to rectify unprofitable segments Leading Risk Pricing projects & project teams to generate value for the wider business Develop key risk pricing tools such and approaches Lead and support risk pricing analysts through peer reviews, coaching and mentoring Ensure that you are meeting customers’ fair and reasonable expectations and provide fair outcomes. Question and challenge peers and managers where processes and procedures do not meet these expectations and any activity that does not place customers’ interests at the heart of how we do business. Ensure completion of all training as mandated by the company and regulated by the FCA. Ensure that direct reports and self, achieve and demonstrate levels of competence required to fulfil job requirement Essential skills/experience: Comfortable working with numerical/statistical data Good skills in use of statistical/data manipulation packages (preferred) with aptitude for building advanced skills Pro-active approach to driving change Critically evaluates information Good communication skills, written and verbal Confidence to express opinions / challenge Pricing/analytics experience in the financial services sector Basic knowledge of Insurance market & competitors Good understanding of underwriting principles What we will give you: Join us and you’ll find a different way of doing things.
