At WSP, you can always find opportunities to grow and do what matters to you. Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and collaborate with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.

About the Role

WSP is seeking Civil Engineers with experience in Flood & Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM)—specifically in optioneering, design development, and project/programme delivery—to support the growth of our technical expertise.

We work with clients and organisations across the UK, including:

  • Local Authority FCERM Programmes
  • Other asset management organisations

Our role involves delivering designs from concept to detailed stages across sectors like flood defences, coastal engineering, and scour assessments/mitigation. While experience in scour assessments, scour mitigation design, and local authority FCERM delivery is beneficial, it is not essential.

Key projects include:

  • Hydraulic culverts, weirs, walls, outfalls, and scour protection.
  • Highways, rail, and property infrastructure projects.

Levels Sought:

  • Senior Engineer (near Chartered)
  • Principal Engineer (Chartered)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
