R&M Team Manager – Customer Network Operations Severn Trent

About the Role
Working within our growing Customer Network Operations department, we’re seeking a R&M Team Manager to manage operational frontline teams.
You’ll primarily:
- Oversee resources to support timely delivery of repair and maintenance activities.
- Ensure our customers receive a constant supply of high-quality drinking water and excellent customer service.
- Manage daily operations, drive team performance (to meet AMI and ODI performance targets), and minimise work suspensions, delays, and rejections.
- Ensure customer promises are met while keeping disruptions to a minimum.
- Operate with a Customer Maintenance Excellence (CMEX) perspective.
Key responsibilities include:
- Guaranteeing all work on Severn Trent’s clean water network is conducted safely, with zero harm to employees, contractors, or the public.
- Supporting staff through proactive performance management, including leak repairs (target: within 24 hours) and reducing water supply interruptions.
- Partnering with contractors, internal/external stakeholders, and trade unions, balancing cost efficiency with service excellence.
- Daily communication to drive performance improvements and sustainability (through CommCell and continuous improvement initiatives).
- Close collaboration with Scheduling, 24/7 dispatch, Network Control, and customers to ensure a seamless repair workflow.

Requirements
We’re looking for someone with:
- A proven track record in managing, leading, and inspiring frontline teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Previous experience in Distribution Networks and a technical understanding of repair/maintenance activities for the water distribution network is advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence (travel and standby duties across the region apply).
