About Surehaven Glasgow
Surehaven Glasgow is registered with Health Improvement Scotland as an Independent Low Secure Hospital. It supports patients aged 18–65 living with a severe and enduring mental illness, detained under either:
- The Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Scotland Act 2003
- The Criminal Procedures (Scotland) Act 1995
The facility comprises:
- 21 ensuite beds, split across two gender-specific wards and a newly added rehabilitation ward, all designed to maximize communal and therapeutic spaces.
About the Role
As a Nurse at Surehaven, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to transforming lives through high-quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional standards of care, assessing residents’ needs and providing tailored support to enhance their physical, psychological, and social wellbeing
- Foster independence and choice, updating care plans in line with regulatory standards
- Ensure accurate medication management, adhering to company policies and legislation
- Maintain professional relations with stakeholders, supporting the reputation of the organisation
- Promote compliance and risk mitigation, ensuring best practice in all aspects of care

You will work closely with other mental health professionals and care teams to:
- Champion the NMC Code (Nursing and Midwifery Council) ethos
- Mentor colleagues and provide ongoing professional development
Key Skills & Experience (Preferred for the Role)
- Leadership experience and the ability to build teams, solve problems, and suggest improvements
- Strong communication skills, capable of forming professional and trusting relationships
- A sound understanding of NMC standards, IT systems, and confidential record-keeping
- Values respect, inclusivity, and person-centred care
- Must be adaptable, able to prioritise effectively and thrive under pressure
- Previous nursing experience in elderly/mental health care is preferred
- Familiarity with clinical governance reviews, quality assurance, and risk management procedures

Salary & Working Arrangements
- £20.05 – £22.48/hr (dependent on experience)
- 37.62 hours per week, with a mix of day and night shifts (08:00–20:00 and 19:45–08:15), including alternative weekends.
